Why I Made These Gloves

Our hands are something we probably take for granted. We use them for almost everything we do, every single day. They work, create, communicate, ride, and help us experience the world around us.

When you're riding a motorcycle, your hands become even more important. They're constantly controlling the bike, from the throttle and brakes to the clutch and switches. They're also one of the first things most people instinctively use to protect themselves if they come off the bike.

That's why, for me, gloves aren't something to overlook.

When I first started riding, I quickly realised how important proper riding gear was. You might not be able to get everything at once, but a good helmet and a proper pair of gloves are a great place to start. Your other gear can come with time, but protecting your head and hands should never be an afterthought.

The Golden Owl MK-I came from that idea.

I wanted to make a glove that I would genuinely want to wear every time I got on the bike. Something that looked good, felt comfortable on the controls and offered protection where I thought it mattered.

We went through nearly 10 different iterations to get here. Small changes were made to the fit, stitching, materials and protection until I was finally happy with the result.

Built Around the Way we Ride

  • Perforated palm to help keep your hands cooler in warmer weather

  • MOJO diamond stitching on the outer palm

  • Hardened knuckle protection

  • Extended wrist protection wrapping further around the outside of the wrist

  • Hard palm sliders for additional protection

  • Extra padding around the inner palm and knuckle area to help reduce pressure and callus build-up

  • Supple drum-dyed cowhide in navy blue and mustard

  • Flexible construction for easier control of the bike

  • Button fasteners to help keep the gloves securely in place

  • Touchscreen-compatible fingertips so you can use your phone or GPS without taking your gloves off

Every part of the MK-I has a reason behind it. It isn't just a glove with my logo on it. It's something I spent a lot of time changing, testing and refining until it felt like something I was proud to put the MOJO name on.
